One, 3-Hour Class
Bring bold lettering to life with the brilliant shine of traditional gold leaf!
“Traditional Gold Leafing 101” is a hands-on introduction to the time-honored techniques of sign painting and gilding, led by guest instructor Robert Stickles. You’ll learn how to lay out and transfer a design using a pounce pattern, apply gold size, handle delicate metal leaf, and create a clean, luminous gilded finish. Students will also have the opportunity to experiment with imitation gold, silver, and variegated leaf.
With only six spots available, you’ll receive focused instruction and plenty of time to practice each step of the process. No previous experience is necessary, and each student will leave with a finished gilded project of their own.
Materials, prepared project surfaces, and use of specialized tools are included.
